Job Description

This position dedicated to providing our Sales team with the technical resources, knowledge and support it needs to engage and execute sales opportunities. This individual will be required to provide our customers and team members technical expertise on a variety of solutions offered by August Schell. We offer technology solutions from companies such as Splunk, VMware, Red Hat and Google. As our Sales Engineer, you will be active in pre-sales meetings, collaborative discussions and professional consultations to help our customers better understand the products, solutions, and technical requirements needed to meet their business goals.

Primary Responsibilities

• Be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on specific OEM offerings and ASE solutions
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations on existing products and ASE services to customers
• Support building relationships with customers and OEM partners
• Talk with customers and OEM’s to assess needs and requirements
• Work with sales organization on Account and OEM strategy
• Support with short term services (Proof of Value, Emergency needs)
• Help evaluate new technology
• Attend networking events

Basic Qualifications and Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant industry experience, including customer-facing IT consulting experience
• Government security clearance or eligibility to become cleared
• 5+ years of Public Sector experience in an engineering role
• Ability to quickly explore, examine and understand complex problems, while identifying the best solution to meet the customer’s needs
• Basic understanding of data center networking (TCP/IP, switching/routing, ports and protocols, firewall concepts, load-balancing)
• Basic understanding of storage architectures, including peripheral interfaces (SCSI, RAID, Ethernet) and multi-processor designs (SMP)
• Demonstrated excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including presentations
• B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or equivalent technical training or job experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Active Government Security Clearance, any level
• Hands-on experience with Splunk or other Big Data solutions
• Enterprise Networking experience
• Former DOD or Civilian Government experience a plus
• Cyber Security experience
• Sales Engineer experience
• Cloud Computing Certifications and or experience a plus
